I embarked on the journey of creating ReTreasure with the aim of fostering a robust network between textile producers and small brand owners. This surplus online shopping platform was designed to bridge the gap between excess materials and the right industry consumers. The project was inspired by my concern for the environmental impact of production and the challenge of finding the perfect fabric amidst the vast output.
My process began with a literature review to understand the issue better, followed by user research to validate my concept. Feedback led me to focus on small business owners as the primary users. The ideation, user flow, wireframes, and interface design phases followed, culminating in user testing to refine the prototype.
In the final design phase of ReTreasure, I took a thoughtful approach to refine the visual elements of the app. I introduced curvatures to the shapes, providing a sense of softness to the overall aesthetics.
While I continued to employ split pages, I harnessed the power of spacing to enhance the user experience.

User Testing
The User Testing phase of the ReTreasure project played a pivotal role in validating the usability, user experience, and overall functionality of the platform. While I had initially planned for a more extensive user testing phase, practical constraints allowed for interviews with three participants on the buyer side. Nonetheless, these insights provided valuable feedback and allowed for valuable conclusions.
Goals:
Usability Assessment: To evaluate the platform's ease of use and the efficiency with which users can navigate its features.
Design Evaluation: To gauge user reactions to the overall design, color palette, and user interface.
User Satisfaction: To collect feedback regarding user preferences and whether they would consider using ReTreasure for their businesses.
Key Findings:
Task Completion: Users were able to efficiently complete the tasks assigned to them, indicating a straightforward and user-friendly platform.
Design Approval: Participants expressed a strong preference for the platform's design. The soft and calming color palette was well-received.
User Intent: Participants indicated a genuine interest in utilizing the ReTreasure platform for their business needs, reinforcing the platform's appeal and potential.
Conclusion:
The User Testing research phase yielded positive results, demonstrating that ReTreasure offers a user-friendly experience with an aesthetically pleasing design. Users showed an inclination to incorporate the platform into their businesses, underscoring the value of ReTreasure in addressing the needs of the target audience.
These insights serve as a foundation for further development and refinement, ensuring that ReTreasure continues to meet the expectations and preferences of its users.
